I spent some quality time with great friends and family; we saw some awesome theater, I got to play in a monologue slam, we traveled, and we even had fish eat our cuticles. This summer was one for the books ♥️💙💚🩶🩵.

Next month, it’ll be 15 years that my father passed away. He had a “bigger than life” presence about him. He was charismatic. He was a dreamer. He had an incredible work ethic. But I believe, what he will be remembered the most for is how much he loved and adored his family. Not only was he an amazing father to my siblings and I, but he was an amazing brother, uncle, cousin, godfather, friend, etc, etc. I could go on & on about how supportive, loving, encouraging and funny he was. Even though I wish he didn’t leave us so soon and so suddenly….I am so grateful to my God in heaven that he chose Ramon Perez to be my earthly father. Thank you Jesus for gifting me the time I had with my Papi ❤️❤️❤️. Friends, Hug your fathers tight as often as you can while they’re here!! And kids…hug your fathers back!! The longer I walk with Him, the more I trust He has me in the palm of His hands even when the road isn’t easy and it feels like I am walking through clouds of dust unsure of where my feet are leading.

But you know what? I've learned to keep moving forward, because even in my uncertainty, fear and sometimes lack of faith, God has still been faithful. He has not pulled away or denied His guidance – even in my times of frustration.

If you find yourself struggling to move forward today, stop for just a moment. Stop long enough to look at your life and embrace God's goodness. He sees you. He hears you and He cares. And you can trust that if you continue to move forward, He will continue to keep you.

A few months ago, my incredibly SPONTANEOUS cousins & I threw caution to the wind and flew to Rome. They only gave me 2 days notice and I came up with every excuse not to go. But God opened EVERY door and made it possible. Those that know me well, know that I am NOT spontaneous … at ALL! I am so grateful to my primas for asking me to go. I really needed to get away and refresh my soul and, boy oh boy, did this trip do the trick! We enjoyed the beauty that is Roma , ate like queens and created memories that will last a lifetime. I love ya so much @loveeanabel, @_forevercurious and @kathyla814 !!

But my Mami is the cutest, sweetest and strongest woman on the planet. A series of novels can be written about her life. Growing up en Los campos de Dominican Republic, her crazy journey to find opportunity in the U.S. and starting her own business with just an 8th grade education… she made so many sacrifices for my brothers and I. I am SO PROUD God chose me to be her daughter. Love you Mami!!

About last night…The Trinity’s Triumph premiere! We filmed this in the summer of 2019, months before the world shut down. I am so grateful they persevered and created a BEAUTIFUL film!! Young, Adriel and Joshua Wills (get on IG bro) all slayed!! And it was a surreal pleasure to work with the legendary, Joe Morton. Thank you to Father Stephen, Kathe Carson and Micheal Wickham for including me in this story. And a HUGE thank you to my bestie @kishabarr_therootedactor for coming with me 🥰! I took myself on this artist date WELL OVER a year

I took myself on this artist date WELL OVER a year ago. Finally got my act together to post it (yay progress!). My adidas and I relished in discovering all the nooks and crannies of this beautiful estate. I’ve been here before, but never by myself. I spent over 4 hours there just discovering and observing. It felt like being a kid again.

When I found the water fountain in the “cave,” it felt surreal. It felt like I was in the Goonies. Remember that movie? When the kids finally find the pirate ship with all the treasure, deep in the underground cave! Granted, the water fountain I found was nowhere near as grand as a private ship full of gold…but you guys get what I mean, right? I just felt like a kid. With every finding on this date, a new layer of imagination was ignited in me. And as an artist, those types of experiences are like manna, man. Food for the soul. I’m grateful I got to experience it ❤️
